As previously mentioned in, IMTS/Hannover Messe 2018 we have more exciting events in store for this fall with a back to back lineup throughout the month of November. Next up is PI PLMx 2018, taking place in Chicago this year November 5th and 6th at the Westin Michigan Ave.
So what is PI PLMx all about? According to Market Key, the producers of PI PLMx, it is America’s only independent Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) event exploring next generation tools and processes delivering an integrated technology operating model. This year the them is for manufacturers to learn how to take advantage of PLM as it transitions from a data management tool to a hub for strategic intelligence and insight, leading the enterprise towards a connected digital value chain.
The connected digital value chain is integral to CIDEON and our role in not only PLM, but digital transformation and the digital twin. A fully connected enterprise, where R&D, engineering, and all facets of product development are part of the live business is integral to these objectives as well. This year, PI PLMx is broken down into three supporting streams:
Enabling Collaboration is all about looking at the most recent and innovative tools and techniques that allow digital assets to flow seamlessly and efficiently between decision makers. Included in this topic are sessions on: Achieving Cross-Departmental Collaboration, Connecting Digital Technology, Creating One PLM Concept Across the Enterprise and Consolidating Legacy Systems.
Supporting the Digital Value Chain. This section parallels PLM’s move from a data control tool towards a strategic business application and explores the essential change processes supporting the move toward a digital value chain. The key subjects discussed in these sessions include: Decentralization of Decision-Making, Dealing with Legacy Culture, Connected Supply Chain and Next Generation Supplier Management, and Extracting More Business Value out of PLM.
Realizing the Service Lifecycle focuses on industrial connectivity and real-time decision making for manufacturing efficiencies and in service product feedback. This stream covers: As-built model data is combined with live product information to deliver a digital twin, machine learning and AI enabling greater service efficiency, and maturing technologies such as AR/VR delivering enhanced planning and training experiences.
Jeff Crawford – IT Director of The Lincoln Electric Company will be speaking at PI PLMx 2018. He plays an integral role in driving proper application SAP -which improves allover business value. An in depth look at key parts of SAP including manufacturing and distribution, order automation, tooling management, variant configuration, engineering systems (PLM/DMS/CAD integration) and international SAP implementations. Everything you could ever want to know about SAP PLM and how your business can benefit – implementing innovation, optimizing engineering processes – again to raise overall business value, as well as customer benefits and performance.
You can learn more about the streams, speakers, and sponsors on the PI PLMx website. If PLM is your thing, or you’re interested in learning about the future of manufacturing enabled through the live enterprise, this event is the place to be! We hope to see you there.
